Fun in the Sun at Pride: Come Volunteer With Us!

Dust off your leather chaps and save outLoud from certain doom* by volunteering at this year’s LGBT pride celebration on Sunday, June 29 (and/or Saturday the 28th) at the San Francisco Civic Center! As a community partner in this year’s celebration, outLoud will receive funds for every hour worked by its pledged volunteers (that means you, you shifty-eyed welcher you!), money that can be put to good use at our weekly snack table and beyond. This year’s Pride will include performances by the B-52’s, Third Eye Blind, En Vogue, Lisa Lisa, Crystal Waters, Chaka Khan, and some other bands that the website is reticent to mention (probably cuz they’re hella cool!). I personally challenge everyone to represent outLoud to their fullest and find some way to incorporate a gay rock lobster on their wardrobe, because opportunities like this don’t come around very often. Your volunteer duties will include: looking spiffy in your new Gay Pride t-shirt, holding a big bucket of money for people to make donations, and greeting people at the gate with hilarious jokes. All in all, this a really fun way to help outLoud get some well-deserved cash in the least strenuous way possible. There isn’t a deadline for volunteering, but it sure would be swell if we could have everybody’s assurances in our hot little hands as soon as possible, preferably by Friday the 13th (hey, why not?). Volunteer shifts are 2.5 hours. Drop us a line to sign up!

*Ed. Note: not really… but your participation will really help!
